Cargo-Worthy

1-Trip vs. Cargo-Worthy

A 1-trip container is essentially a new container that has been used for a single overseas shipment. It’s in near-pristine condition with minimal wear, offering a clean, modern appearance and maximum longevity. These containers are ideal for customers seeking a high-quality, long-term storage solution.

A cargo-worthy container is used but has been inspected and certified to meet standards for shipping cargo. These containers may show signs of wear, such as surface rust or dents, but are structurally sound and watertight. They are a cost-effective option for storage or transport needs.

What color options are available for containers?

Tan is our most commonly carried color for both 1-trip and cargo-worthy containers. Tan is ideal for temperature regulation, as it reflects sunlight and helps keep the container’s interior cooler.

Cargo-Worthy Containers:

For new (1-trip) containers, we can source other colors upon request. However, custom colors come with an additional cost and may require a longer acquisition time.

Color options for cargo-worthy containers are limited to what is available in our yard. If you have a color preference, we’ll do our best to accommodate it based on current inventory, but specific colors cannot be guaranteed.

Site Preparations

Site Preparations

Proper site preparation is crucial to extend the lifespan of your container and ensure a smooth delivery. Here are our recommendations:

How should I prepare my site for a container?

How should I prepare my site for a container?

Containers have steel I-beams on the bottom, and prolonged exposure to moisture can reduce their lifespan. Place the container on a surface that promotes drainage, such as crushed stone, to prevent water accumulation.

avoid Moisture

Use 4x4 pressure-treated timber or similar materials to elevate the container slightly, allowing airflow underneath and further reducing moisture exposure.

Elevate for Airflow

Avoid placing containers on soil that retains water or becomes muddy when it rains. A firm, well-draining surface is essential.

Choose the Right Ground

Ensure the ground is level from side to side to support safe delivery and stable placement. Refer to our Delivery Information page for specific space requirements.
